March 8th 2025 Marriage Anniversary

March 8th 2025 Marriage Anniversary

This year marked a beautiful milestone for me and my wife, Shanika Touray. We’ve been together for 10 amazing years—8 of those as husband and wife. Time flies when love is real.

A Decade of Us: Our 2025 Anniversary in New York

We’ve built a life together, and along the way, we’ve been blessed with two incredible children who fill our world with laughter, chaos, and purpose. So when our anniversary came around this year, we decided it was time to do something memorable. Something different. Something just for us.

We packed up and spent our anniversary in none other than New York City.

Now listen, for all the times we’ve traveled, we had never ridden the subway before. Crazy, right? We always heard wild stories on the news—dirty platforms, loud confrontations, unsafe vibes. But this time? We said forget all that. Let’s see for ourselves. And yo... we were pleasantly surprised. The subway was peaceful, clean, and honestly kind of exciting. It was easy to figure out where to go, and once we got on and heard that classic “stand clear of the closing doors please,” we knew we were officially having a New York experience.

From there, we made our way to a Haitian restaurant I’ll never forget—Djon Djon, located at 1206 Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn. The moment we walked in, the aroma grabbed us. The food was absolutely fire. Seasoned to perfection, warm, and made with that kind of love only Haitian kitchens know. We ate, we laughed, we reminisced. It was just one of those meals where every bite makes you feel like home—even when you’re miles away from it.

We ended the night at a rooftop sky lounge overlooking the water. I couldn’t tell you the name of the building if I tried, but I can tell you the view was unforgettable. City lights reflecting off the water, soft music in the background, and my queen by my side—it was perfect. We toasted to love, to growth, to making it through everything life threw at us and still choosing each other every day.

New York gave us a memory we’ll never forget. And as we looked out over that skyline, I knew without a doubt—I’d ride the subway with her, sit through traffic with her, fly across the world with her and party with her, thats my wife forever through all the good and bad.
